Massages

Swedish Massage is the most common type of massage, which involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with movement of the joints. By muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing.

Deep Tissue Massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It’s used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

Relaxation Massage is a smooth, gentle, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, relieves muscular tension, plus improves circulation and range of movement

Post Operative Care Massage is a specialized form of massage, generally believed to decrease recovery time and improve results by reducing post-surgical swelling and fibrosis (scar tissue formation).  MLD (manual lymphatic drainage massage is frequently recommended by plastic surgeons during the recovery phase following cosmetic liposuction or tummy tuck. Post Operative after care consists of manual and  machines such as Ultrasound, Endermology, Pressotherapy, Cavitation and Carboxy to achieve your final look.

Postpartum Massage is great to aid the release of oxytocin (a hormone that helps with baby bonding and nursing) and ease various post-birth issues, including swelling, back pain, out-of whack hormones, and postnatal depression.

Slimming Massage is a vigorous and stimulating massage that is designed to target areas of cellulite. The therapist uses a combination of rubbing and pressing techniques that help to break up cellulite. All mixed with relaxing techniques to ease up the session.

Laser Liposuction is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a laser to melt away fat under the skin. It's also called laser lipolysis. Cool Sculpting is a noninvasive cosmetic procedure that uses a cooling applicator to freeze away fat beneath the skin.

Yeso Therapy involves casting a part of the body to sculpt it. Casts are made of natural fibers that contain skin-nourishing compounds like mineral salts, algae and other extracts. The fibers bind specific areas—most commonly abs, arms and thighs—to provide compression and generate heat.

Wood therapy is a vigorous massage technique that utilizes wooden, handheld tools, such as rolling pins and vacuum-suction cups. Purportedly, wood therapy is centuries old and originated in Asia.

Cavitation is a non-invasive fat reduction treatment that uses ultrasound technology to reduce fat cells in targeted parts of the body. It is the preferred option for anyone who does not want to undergo extreme options such as liposuction, as it is does not involve any needles or surgery.

Butt Firming is a non-surgical procedure to give your buttocks a toned and defined appearance. The treatment tightens the skin so it better conforms to your contours and can provide some lift to the soft tissues.

Post Operative Care

1. How soon after surgery can I have a massage?

Do not massage until your incision has fully healed and is a scar (not just a wound or scab). If you massage your scar prematurely you could cause it to reopen or tear, leading to an infection. Do not massage a scar until at least 2 weeks after a surgery or injury. The first week it is suggested that sessions be daily or every other day, if possible. The second week, every other day, reducing in frequency after that.

2. Does massage help swelling after surgery?

Post-Operative massage is not only a great way to ease the stress and pain of surgery but also can assist in reducing inflammation and swelling, improve circulation, and decrease bruising. It may seem like a miracle drug but in reality, it's just the fastest growing trend in post-operative surgery recovery.

3. What food promotes healing after surgery?

Eat foods to speed up recovery after surgery:

  • Protein – soy, dairy, beans, eggs, cottage cheese, poultry, fish, meat, and nuts are all excellent sources of protein.
  • Vitamin C – vitamin C helps your body make collagen.

4. What should you avoid after surgery?

Please avoid the following foods the first 7 days after surgery:

  • Spicy Foods.
  • Foods that are difficult to chew.
  • Popcorn & Chips (avoid for a month)
  • French bread loafs and Baguettes.
  • Alcoholic Beverages.

5. What reduces swelling after surgery?

You can reduce swelling by doing your postoperative exercises. Elevating your leg on a pillow in bed for 1 to 2 hours each afternoon, will help swelling as well. Swelling can last for 3 to 6 months after surgery.

6. Where does lymph drain?

One of the trunks, the right lymphatic duct, drains the upper right portion of the body, returning lymph to the bloodstream via the right subclavian vein. The other trunk, the thoracic duct, drains the rest of the body into the left subclavian vein. After a massage, you might have the feeling of having to urinate, which is a great thing.

7. What should you do after a massage?

What you should (and shouldn't!) do after a massage treatment.

  • Drink water! .
  • Eat. A snack on hand to have after your massage.
  • Have a bath.
  • Rest
  • Put your feet up.
  • Notice your body's relaxed state.
  • Notice the comfort of your skin and swelling very diminished.

8. What should I do after liposuction?

  • Set realistic recovery goals. Your goals during recovery are to manage your pain, ensure wound healing, and control swelling.
  • Take your pain meds as needed.
  • Wear your compression garments and bandages.
  • Return to your normal schedule SLOWLY.
  • Baby your incisions.
  • Watch for complications, and contact your doctor as needed.
  • Be PATIENT as you see your new look unfold.

9. Does skin tighten after liposuction?

Liposuction does not treat excess skin. Only surgery to remove excess skin (tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift, etc.) can do that. People with thin, sun-damaged skin or stretch marks may feel like their skin looks deflated after liposuction, as it is unlikely to tighten up completely once the fat is gone. Fortunately, there are body treatments you can do to help tighten the skin.

10. How long should you wear compression garment after liposuction?

Many surgeons recommend wearing compression garments for four to six weeks after liposuction to minimize post-operative edema and prevent rippling. You may be instructed to wear the garment even while you sleep to ensure optimal healing.
